Manually enabling FACs. when use zOS 3.1

Hello everyone. When using Hyperion 4.9.1 to emulate z/OS 3.1, it doesn't work unless I manually set the facilities (FAC ENA 129, 054, 130, 134, 135) -- since they aren't recognized within hercules.conf -- and only then am I able to perform the IPL. Is there a fix for this?

Create hercules.rc in the same dir where you have your hercules.cnf, then they will be enabled automatically:

fac ena 129
pause 1
fac ena 054

Hercules is a mainframe hardware emulator. It does not emulate mainframe operating systems.

A fix for what? You have provided zero evidence that there is a problem to be fixed!

I suspect maybe you might simply be new to Hercules and unfamiliar with how to use it? Have you read our documentation? Have you tried using the "help facility" command?

Unneccessary. Facilities may be enabled or disabled in the configuration file.

Yes, you can certainly place facility commands in an .rc file if you like (as you have illustrated), but the point is, doing so is not neccessary in order to enable a given facility.
