Board: replace the big motor connectors with Molex KK 100 ones.
This is pretty much the standard now, as Sanguinololu and
RAMPS use these for quite some time.
commit f38c83e50278ec1b63a476f14dc7d960a3ddcdaa
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Sun Oct 30 18:10:34 2011 +0100

commit b1cbe305029f1574a2602e84bc472e5d30a8cdc5
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Sat Oct 29 20:51:04 2011 +0200
Board: move the ICMP header to the left of the ATmega.
This saves a fantasic 3 wire bridges without drawback or
functionality loss ! Also, try to leave room in case
C18 moves into the ATmega socket.
commit 6ae7afdf1537cd1f5b3450777725f3e853191fb9
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Sat Oct 29 19:56:15 2011 +0200
Board: remove tha ability to feed 5 V through the serial connector.
This is not of much use and had the unfortunate side effect of
destroying the USB-TTL converter while plugging improperly.
commit c46d844f571dd93ca7740391667a4ecc919b6268
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Fri Oct 28 20:40:44 2011 +0200
Board: remove max endstops an rewire the remaining ones.
Maximum endstops will eventually go onto the extension board.
There is now no longer a conflict between some endstops and
the ICMP header. Should be simple to kook up an SD Card reader now.
commit 74f6d311092c02b6353720c6c256e27e8a747abe
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Fri Oct 28 20:26:05 2011 +0200
Board: move the crystal inside the ATmega socket.
Obvious advantage: it saves board space.
Less obvious: it's easy to keep it there while maintaining
short tracks to the CPU's clock input.
commit c8c5a78d72faea0198a9627b56eebb3fa5b19ac4
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Fri Oct 28 20:07:49 2011 +0200
Add pockets to the DIP40 footprint.
This gives a good hint where we can place components within that
socket.
commit 876ee67e69196100ab3ccc6b6a7c98e989a47321
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>

Add data sheet for the Bootloader protocol.
commit 812252a732310d4d97be5b378ec2bca28bf21bec
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Fri Aug 12 14:54:34 2011 +0200
Bootloader: reconsider the page erase strategy and save 60 bytes.
As avrdude always sends complete flash memory pages, there's no point
in tracking distinct counters for pages to be erased vs. pages to be
written.
commit 34de8d68a717c4744f40724c8f04b4c4343f7ecb
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Fri Aug 12 14:47:28 2011 +0200
SetupTest: turn the other heater LED off while one is blinking.
Formerly, the status of the second heater was undefined, which sometimes
led to user confusion.
commit d9061450c527be6287e7ead1ac0cd615b2b0166e
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Thu Aug 11 15:20:16 2011 +0200
Bootloader: take measures to not accidently overwrite it's self.
commit 80f55a0a701a1d6c7a7135cd63920b7eeb8bd399
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Thu Aug 11 15:14:02 2011 +0200
Bootloader: remove support for lock bits.
This is a somewhat questionable feature, as a programmer is required
to clear these lock bits again.
commit ac9565a39b9a8eef453c5c2d57320dbd61b78b2a
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Thu Aug 11 15:12:27 2011 +0200
Bootloader: replace tabs with spaces, remove spaces at line endings.
This is a purely cosmetical change.
commit 3a4c77621309f5f03ee099df7a81da6eed1dc6ac
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Fri Jul 22 00:56:40 2011 +0200
Make Release 1.3.
commit 95dd0c78ac41dbbe451e6e9db0446ac0e1a7db71
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Fri Jul 22 00:16:59 2011 +0200
tools: refine release making script a bit.
Git apparently deletes emptied directories now, so we have to
uncommit the old release first, then clean up the file system.
Also, .zip and .png are ignored by git now, so we have to
force-add them.
commit ca15f8f19c64fbab737a9eae90cf63f90196473c
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Thu Jul 7 22:34:10 2011 +0200
Add a small setup test firmware.
This is for use right after assembly, to make sure basic things work.
Nothing fancy, but it compiles in the Arduino IDE.
commit 792a5ee05b685a44cab80b078608b2a18848ee42
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Wed Jun 29 14:39:52 2011 +0200
Board: fixed the designator of the Pololus on the silk screen.
commit 2378cb46d4194a733f801355a38173b90568a73c
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Wed Jun 29 14:07:29 2011 +0200
Board: fix a misaligned mounting hole.
The misalignment was probably introduced unintentionally.
commit ffa59d31df1eb93aad79d8be28443c2f9a53348b
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Sat Jun 25 21:08:53 2011 +0200
Endstop: add a 'E' and 'D' sign to the TCST1103/2103 footprint.
The previous one wasn't unambiguous and nobody told me for several
months ... uäääh!
commit ef706ebaa7dedc025fe000ebbc6d01ff11667b81
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Thu Jun 16 00:02:00 2011 +0200
Board: aligned Temp connectors with the surrounding connectors.
Another cosmetics without functional change.
commit fc7d5cc8552fe49e0e00a98fac628c85bb8b42e0
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Wed Jun 15 22:50:11 2011 +0200
Board: align CONN3 to CONN2.
Also purely cosmetic.
commit 0bad2c43e407760cf363a7bc049bfef7738e5741
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Wed Jun 15 22:33:43 2011 +0200
Board: align C1 with the nearby connector.
Just a cosmetic change.
commit 0b233abc2a3e14407c6c0c81576a4b570cf0c6b6
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Tue Jun 14 17:47:10 2011 +0200
Board: bump printed version number to 1.3, note new licence.
commit 87b6a8a5427ff52b914396f72c9138b3d5e3bb39
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Sat Jun 11 11:00:41 2011 +0200
Removed two footprints which are likely never used.
commit b371fd7b582dd5873ec48a2781ce9a31b77b1684
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Sat Jun 11 10:58:28 2011 +0200
Board: make the MOSFETs upright.
This should allow better cooling and attaching a heatsink. Effectively,
it just replaces the silk of the footprint ...
Also made the GND trace there even thicker.
commit 0ebc6ca6a51ef424171d0f222a7873911ea184bb
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Sat Jun 11 09:02:48 2011 +0200
Board: remove the Debug LED again.
This was added too early, as this pin is also used for the X_MIN
endstop. When introducing SD card support this endstop is expected
to go elsewhere, though.
commit 944b14ede3cc9d782cc00e328e9197e429942847
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Wed Jun 8 23:10:57 2011 +0200
Both PCBs: raise minimum track width to 30 mil.
Was 20 mil before. According to users of the toner etching method,
wider tracks are more reliable. So, increasing track width without
lowering minimum copper track (important for isolation milling)
is a good thing.
commit 06cefc8fd030718a100382d2d57676fa740e708e
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Wed Jun 8 22:16:34 2011 +0200
Board: same clearance against copper planes for all tracks (32 mil).
The endstop PCB was already fine.
commit 47c3431476001517dd9c3d7af02dc6eef2158a30
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Wed Jun 8 21:47:38 2011 +0200
Board: made traces from the MOSFETs a bit shorter and thicker.
There's a lot of current and this also makes a bit more room.
commit ab146d9e99d91dc51ff96e892f91eeee76b2a7ca
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Wed Jun 8 21:21:35 2011 +0200
Board: made drill holes for the Molex 4 Pin and Molex 156 both 1.6 mm.
This is a bit smaller than recommended by Molex, which takes account
for the fact Gen7 is single sided. Five drill sizes now, which is about
as good as we can get.
commit 75c1edd8683a7e3e55efa0049108d81f777c4ca1
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Wed Jun 8 20:48:22 2011 +0200
Board: reduced the ATX24's drill size to 1.3 mm.
This was 1.4 mm and takes account for the fact Gen7 is single sided,
so no solder can flow into the hole anyways.
commit 10008983f1e746a15a886b646a99265ec089915c
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>
Date: Wed Jun 8 13:40:14 2011 +0200
Board: reduce the drill size of screw terminals to 40 mil / 1.02 mm.
Both, the screw terminals coming from Reichelt as well as those
coming with Gen2 electronics have 0.9 mm pins, so 1.0 mm is
totally sufficient ... and yet another custom drill size less.
commit 51787c5f7846fb890bbee30c45f86af8da98eed2
Author: Markus Hitter <mah@jump-ing.de>

Board: add another disk power type connector for supplying heaters.
Also, the 12 volts stuff was divided into two parts. This allows
to have different voltages for heaters and motors without making
things more complex for newbie users.

Replace 3 pin thermistor headers with 2 pin ones.
This not only lowers the price by a few cent, it also allows a
simpler routing, removes a wire bridge and makes it unambiguous
on where the thermistor should be connected.

Replace the heater connectors with that new Combi-2 type.
Several enhancements:
- Only two pins -> less confusion.
- Thicker pins -> more current possible.
- You can use screw terminals.

Remove the MOSFET for the fan.
This has three reasons:
1 A questionaire resulted in nobody actually using a fan.
2 If you really want a fan, connect it to the power supply
directly. Like the PSU, it will switch off at end of printing.
3 Cost and board space, of course. Cost saving is about EUR 1.-.
No worries, the board space will be reused quickly, bigger headers
are already lurking around the corner.

Add a Combi-2 footprint, derived from the Combi-4 one.
This is to be used for the heater connectors, as these draw even
more current than the motors.
