M2 Rollout on May 26. Includes campaigns, organizations, and a more developed entry form. There are several major improvements described below:

User Acquisition Funnels:

  • We updated the Entry Page and the COI submission flows in order to account for our main user acquisition funnels: people who come to Representable.org organically and people who come to Representable.org by hearing about it from a partner organization.
  • To account for organic traffic: we modified the Front Page to display a map of the US where users can select the states where we are in open beta.
    • The map displays links to each state page, which contains specific information about the redistricting process in each state. An example of a state page is that for Michigan (representable.org/michigan).
  • To account for traffic generated by a partner organization:
    • We created campaign links that can be used by organizations to gather entries for a specific reason. Organizations can customize the content on this page in order to better control their user funnels and provide specific call to action messages. They can also include these links in emails to their members, letting them sign-up more easily.
  • COI Submission
    • We modified the Entry Page to guide the user more easily as they’re adding the COI. This includes splitting the entry reason into several boxes related to a community’s interests (cultural/economic/activities/other) and issues they care about. This was done with the help of partner orgs who helped us better understand what matters and what doesn’t in this process.
We also added better map drawing tools, better error validation, and overall took care of improving the experience such that it’s as easy as possible for a user to add their community.
  • Campaign and Organization Views
    • We developed campaign and organization pages for an organization to manage its COI gathering process. We included ways for organizations to create campaigns, links for gathering COIs, and manage membership using a whitelist such that bad actors are prevented from influencing the process.
