[BUG] Unable to recieve images, but able to send images

Describe the bug
When someone not using this app sends an attached image file to someone using the app, nothing appears on the recieving phone. A user running this app can send image files to other phones not using the app (such as using google messages).

To Reproduce
Needs: a phone running the app and a phone not running the app

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1A - attach an image file (on a texting application that isn't this one) to a phone that is running this app
2A - hit send on the sending phone
3A - open conversation on recieving phone and see that there is no image

1B - attach an image file (via this app) to a phone that isn't running this application
2B - hit send on the sending phone
3B - open conversation on recieving phone and see that the image went through

Expected behavior
The phone running this application should recieve and display the image file sent by the phone not running this application.

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

• Device: Samsung Galaxy S25
• OS: Android 16
• App Version 1.0.7

Same hapening on GrapheneOS on a pixel 7a.
I can send MMS pictures, but can not get them. there is no indiciation that even something has arrived. The AOSP messages app that comes with GrapheneOS shows that there are MMS i need to download.

give me a while to implement and get back to the projet, I have switched to platform side of android for a couple of weeks/months until I achieve the goals there. sorry for the inconveniences.
