Black Screen with White Dots on DC10 Installer

I am attempting to follow the instructions for PSP users with older Custom Firmware. So far I have tried this on a PSP 1001 and PSP 2000, both running 5.00 M33-4 CFW. I have also formatted the microSD card I'm using multiple times in multiple consoles.

I have downloaded FasterARK 5.0.1's "Full" package (sha256:f5d817661b7f71d70c38f770099b4f93036eb9b909d0adc454bb508692ac6467) and copied over all the files successfully, as well as placed 661.PBP on the root of the Memory Stick. When I try to launch the DC10 installer, the only thing I'm presented with after the gameboot is a black screen with a row of dots near the top of the screen. After a few seconds the application automatically quits and sends me back to the XMB. The image below shows what is happening.

For added context after some further testing: On the same setup I was able to successfully launch ARK-4's DC Installer running on 5.00 M33-4! Unfortunately, ARK-5's DC Installer still has the same behavior even after swapping out microSD cards, adapters, and using a different PC with freshly downloaded files.

I can verify the DC Installer does work on 6.61 ARK-5 5.0.1, but the same installation will not work for 5.00 M33-4

Adding my own experience to this: I had the same problem, with the black screen with white dots when launching the installer, but I had this on 6.61 Pro-C.

I used Cronoswitch to switch back to OFW, then followed the instructions for installation of ARK-5 in OFW, and that worked. Of course, I don't feel safe recommending doing this for everyone if only because it's not the documented procedure in the README, but... worked for me 🤷
