can the clock background have a toggle to show random owned album art instead of the photos ?

i assume this would have to randomly read from sonos playlists ?

Great idea and definitely feasible! The album art is already in memory so no extra download needed.

The main challenge is the square art vs panoramic screen (800×480). We're looking at two options:

1. Scale to fill + blur sides — scale the art to fill the height, then fill the sides with a blurred version. Looks great but the source art is only 420×420 so quality may be limited at full screen.
2. External API (Fanart.tv or TheAudioDB) — fetch a proper 1920×1080 landscape artist background that actually matches what's playing. Much better quality and directly related to the current artist.

Will explore both and go with whichever looks best. Tracking this alongside the blurred background feature in #49.

thanks for the update and feed back centred album art with blurred sides as option 1 sounds great

on option 2 as its the clock in use how would you decide what to download ?

a toggle option to keep existing photo backgrounds could also be an option for some users
