Generator positions and hardness

Some issues pointed out by Guada regarding generators:

• Is hardness/softness well implemented? Is R=0 (series for voltage gen), R=inf (parallel for current gen) equivalent to defining hard sources? Or the hardness and the generator resistance two different things?

• Why can't one have voltage generators in the middle of the line? Wouldn't it be possible to use a V generator to set a voltage difference between two adjacent segments?
