Description:
Are Federal Supreme Court judgments worth the wait – that is, are outcomes more favourable for applicants when proceedings at the Court take longer?
Picture this: You’re eagerly awaiting the Federal Supreme Court decision in your case, but day after day passes without news from Lausanne. Given your unique case characteristics, how does the likelihood of your appeal being successful develop over time?
In this challenge, we will analyse the relationship between case duration and outcomes using the Swiss Federal Supreme Court Dataset (SCD) and statistical modelling. We are also going to create a website that allows the public to interactively explore the results.
Sounds interesting? Join us if you have statistical expertise, know how to whip up a website, or simply want to learn about all of that.
