but I also tried latest beta and 2.0.1 with same effect

Can you try it again with the 3.0 beta?

now I'm on 3.0 beta 6

got it paired in ne meantime. Pairing issue seems related to my Bluetooth Proxies (Shelly devices)
moved it closer to another one and that one worked - despite both are the same shelly devices. Need compare configurations...

but:
some of the entities won't update now... last seen and battery level for example is never updated.
