When using the storage tool to move gregtech machinery, it seems that not every setting is properly restored after pasting. Some examples:
-A fluid locked output hatch (e.g. on a large chemical reactor) keeps its locked fluid in the GUI, but is able to output other fluids, as if unconfigured.
-A ender fluid/item link cover stops working after pasting, rightclicking it with a screwdriver immediatly makes it work again.
-The batteries in a battery buffer stop working after pasting, removing one immediatly fixes it.
I suspect those are all related.
