latest desktop editor is Apple Silicon only, not Intel compatible

Previous versions of the offline Desktop Editor app—up to 3.12.1—were compiled for Intel macs, and therefore compatible with all Macs (either native to Intel or via Rosetta 2 emulation on Apple Silicon). But the latest one, 3.13.1, was only compiled for Apple Silicon macs, and is therefore incompatible with Intel macs.

Could you please recompile either as a Universal Binary, or as an Intel binary, so that those of us with Intel studio machines which are not connected to the internet can keep using the software?

Nothing is working so its an very expensive brick at the moment. Is there any support?

Being online is not my preferred way of working. Also as a Mac user Safari is my preferred browser and their online editor doesn't work with that. My workflow is based on my memory and vision. New ways can always be embraced.

Whilst the system used may be great for PC users theres a few problems for Mac users.

Im an Intel Mac user with one of Apples last generation Intel iMacs on i9 Intel chip.

It appears after a bit of checking that Morningstar had updated their firmware first followed later by an update to the Desktop Editor.

Latest firmware appears to be 13.3.4 on website
MC6Pro Hardware Screen shows Im using 3.13.3A (why reverse the numbers?)
Latest Desktop Editor for Safari based users on Intel Macs appears today to be 13.3.2
I was using version 13.3.1 (which failed)

Intel Desktop Editor 13.3.1 is not compatible with 3.13.3A
Intel Desktop Editor 13.3.2 appears to work.

If firmware is now 13.3.4 how do i know, before changing anything, whether that version is
a: same as 3.13.A version number the hardware shows (what does the A represent)
b: works with an editor listed as v 13.3.2 as thats not the number the hardware firmware or the software firmware updates display.

The timing of these updates caught me out.

As a new Morningstar user I was not aware of the firmware to Desktop Editor correlation. I have recently become more aware of this as it is a necessary workflow hardware firmware and software controller check on Fenders Tone Master Pro Pedalboard.

So for me as a new user whose memory is becoming untrusted a few frustrations have crept in.

GitHub's IT Terminology is also still throwing me re Morningstar's support processes so at the moment its not easy to find or ask questions, although Im beginning to nail that one.

New User issues causing frustrations are things like

No clarity on whether downgrading the firmware on an MC6 Pro is possible, Googling this appears to have AI telling me it's not. (However online auto AI answers are unreliable if seeking specifics)

Being pushed from my usually workflows by things like "It only works with Chrome or x" sets up a new learning curve which is frustrating when you're already trying to learn Midi commands, the Controller itself and hardware linking with differing cable ports.

Hardware direct editing on MC6Pro is difficult due to text size (Im visually challenged). Sitting here with a magnifying glass (Some of you youngsters might not even know what one of those is)

The user guide not really giving me explanations to my questions. My learning is best done with examples and context more than just press button a then button b etc. Whilst following instructions by rote should be foolproof this fool doesn't find it helpful to his learning processes without real word examples.

I know from the plethora of users posting about the product that its a good controller but without software suiting my workflow which I and probably many others adopt due to eyesight and memory challenges, it might as well be a brick at times.

The products are probably so easy to use for seasoned users who have grown up with morningstar products but spare a thought for us elderly newbies.

The other posts here which I have added this too regards needing the Desktop Editor for their Intel Macs seems to show we may be a minority group and as such may be left in the cold support wise as the youngsters pursue the exiting new world of the latest changes.

I have edited my previous response today, given with a clearer head after a good nights sleep, I found the updated desktop editor and can now revert to my previous education workflow.
