Delay after saving or deleting an event is still present

The banner that turned on for five seconds no longer appears, but the delay in returning control back to the user is still happening.
After saving an event, if you press the EDIT button on another event within a few seconds, the system responds and goes into edit mode, but a few seconds later, after the delay expires, the system auto-resets the edit mode back to display only mode.
The user has to start over and press the edit button again.
