[Question] Can I use my Tang Primer 20K with this project?

Hello all, Im a compete beginner of FPGA and I'm learning Verlilog by myself.
I bought a Tang Primer 20K complete with a docking (station??) and I'm curios to know if:

• This project is compatible with my board
• I can help you in some way
• You have a Discord server to contact you directly

This board is not directly supported. But it's actually pretty similar to the Tang Nano 20k. The main thing you need to do is to make sure your pin connections are correct. Have a look at the .cst files. These will be the ones where you'll have to do most of the adjustments.

And then you'll also need a Raspberry Pi pico or similar for the support functions. See the FPGA Companion repository for that.

This might be quite challenging for a total beginner. But we've all started somewhere and the best way to learn is by just trying yourself.

@velteyn i have two cores running on that board namely the VIC20 and A2600

Basically cores that don't need the SDRAM as main memory.
Primer board only have DDR3 memory and FPGA internal block ram what gives limited featureset of the cores i mentioned.
Last but not least an external µC is needed for the fpga-companion firmware as Till mentioned M0S Dock or Pico.
The onboard µC is limited to USB device only and we need host mode. Practically same apply for the Nano 9k.
I think other cores like ZX81 or so could fit very well into this board. Have a start it's a nice board for starting with fpga!
