On Mac OS, &s in the label are parsed in the same way as for Unix and Windows, but no mnemonic underline is displayed. On Mac OS, a parenthesized mnemonic character is removed (along with any surrounding space) before the label is displayed, since a parenthesized mnemonic is often used for non-Roman languages.

Hi Stephen, thanks for looking into it. Is the & thing actually related to the prefix: 'alt problem?

I suspect not. I only noticed when I went to use Open Terminal Here and discovered the utilis were not present.

I'm also using rackup https://samth.github.io/rackup/ no idea if that is a factor I need to test with and without
as well as test with windows & linux but I have access to neither for the moment. I'm pressed for time right now so this will probable take me a couple of weeks before I can look into it properly.
