Is it possible to remove the hardcoded filenames?

The structure of the filenames is hardcoded into the Python code. To allow use with different ways of outputting the files from the UM, or even different climate models, could the structure of the filenames be specified in rose-app.conf?

One option is to pass a file pattern from rose e.g. "atmos_{}a_{}h_{}_pt-{}.nc", perhaps together with (or instead of) a file type - e.g. um_postproc_netcdf, with these defined in input namelists. This would enable it to be more flexible.
