Cannot Access Previous Claude Sessions (No Sidebar)

Hi, thanks for your extension - it’s been really helpful for us.

I noticed a small issue:

When using other models, we can go back to previous sessions by clicking old chats in the sidebar and continue the conversation normally.
However, for Claude, there’s no sidebar access, so I can’t return to older conversations.

Could you help fix this?

I checked the UI on Claude.ai, and the sidebar is still available there, so it seems like something might be missing in the extension.

Thanks for reporting this and for sharing the screenshots.

I had noticed this behavior before as well, and after checking it more closely, this appears to be a Claude-side limitation rather than a Panelize layout issue.

The small widget in your screenshot is Claude’s own collapsed sidebar trigger. In a normal top-level Claude tab, it exists. Inside Panelize’s embedded Claude iframe, it is not rendered at all. I also compared it at the same widths in a normal Claude page, and the trigger still appeared there.

So at this point, the issue seems to be that Claude does not fully support this sidebar/history UI when loaded inside an embedded iframe.

At the moment, this does not look fixable from Panelize alone, so I’m treating it as an upstream Claude embedding limitation. If Claude changes their iframe behavior in the future, or if we find a reliable workaround, I can revisit this.

I'd like to chime in with another limitation due to this problem: due to the missing sidebar I cannot use the Projects feature of Claude, which I wanted to do to compare responses with ChatGPT using the same project instructions.
