Changing nickname causes crash and phone reboot

I just installed HoloIRC on my phone (MIUI 8.0 based on Android 5.1.1) via Google Play.

For some (unknown) reason, HoloIRC always uses the default username ("HoloIRCUser") instead of the name I configured. (Maybe I'm doing something wrong?)

After connecting to freenode and joining a test channel, I tried to change the nickname using Actions - change nick. My desktop IRC client shows that changing the username worked, but the "change nick" dialog doesn't close (the dark area on the "OK" button where I clicked stays visible, so I'd guess is it crashed), and some seconds later, my phone reboots :-(

Unfortunately this makes providing debug logs quite hard, so please tell me if there's a way to get them. Also, if you need additional information, just ask.
