How to add a new item to the launch view via a button?

If you are still interested in that, it should be so easy like create a new MyLaucherItem with a similar code to this:

MyLauncherItem *myNewItem=[[MyLauncherItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Item 1"
iPhoneImage:@"itemImage"
iPadImage:@"itemImage-iPad"
target:@"ItemViewController"
targetTitle:@"Item 1 View"
deletable:NO];

//And after that, just add in the array of the launcher that could be something like this:

NSMutableArray *arrayPages=[self.launcherView pages]; //It's a multidimensional array (pages and items)

//Example adding your item in the first page:
[[arrayPages objectAtIndex:0] addObject:myNewItem];

//Finally set that array to the launcher:
