Include example configurations with complete YAML file

The current example configurations only list specific gestures for each device, meaning if one copy/pastes them directly into their configuration file, they'll get a "bad file" error. Because the documentation on how to actually configure the file is a bit scattered, it was difficult to find where, exactly, one is supposed to explicitly define the different devices. Thus, at the beginning of the example configurations, there should be a section explaining how each collection of gestures should be pre-defined with their devices.

Alternatively, the docs might also benefit from a restructuring that flows more naturally, explaining the overall structure of the configuration first, then going over the specific values, then finally showcasing example configurations, with a final "complete example configuration" at the end.

Also it is not clear what works for touchpad and what works for mouse.
From documentation I would conclude that press doesn't work with touchpad, but I am unsure if press is the same as tap.
What I want to do is to define gesture for 4 fingers tap.
I am not sure if it is possible.

That's a mistake, press gestures are supported on touchpads.

That 's currently not possible, as libinput only supports tapping up to 3 fingers, and even If I wanted to add 1-3 finger tap, I wouldn't be able to distinguish tapping from clicking a physical button. The closest you can do right now is 4-finger press (hold).

Tap shortly with 4 fingers, press touchpad with 4 fingers until I hear click, or...?
I am asking because I have tried several ways with no success.
Swipes with 3 or 4 fingers work excellent.

Place 4 fingers on the touchpad, don't lift them or click, the gesture will begin after about 500 ms (delay added by libinput, can't disable it) and end when you lift all fingers.

I got it. You just put down 4 fingers and stay as it for a while.

It's at the beginning of the configuration.md page. Make sure to choose the right version as the path changed recently.

I'll just add a "getting started" page that slowly introduces users to all the features (with examples) instead of just throwing everything at them at once and forcing them to search for what they want.
