Smelter and Pump seem buggy

I have the following setup to convert Raw Gold Blocks -> Gold Blocks. In addition to the smelting recipe seeming to not convert blocks as the recipe suggest (setup has been active for a couple of minutes), the pump turns itself off after collecting a source block of Lava, and is seemingly unable to turn back on, even if more lava blocks are provided below.

I'm unsure if these setups are correct, so this could be an issue on my end. I think that Ponders, similar to Create mod, would help communicate these setups to the player.

Smelter requires redstone signal to work actually. As for pump, i think i should add ponders (as you suggested) for some blocks as it's not as intuitive as i thought

Though ponders will be added only in 0.4 (along with some lot of new content) and not for all or most blocks initially (as rn i have no idea how it works). But i'll try thx for suggestion ❤
