Windows binary for version 1.5.5

Hello,

Could you please publish the Windows binaries for version 1.5.5, as present in previous non-rc versions?

Some open-source projects, such as tsduck, automatically download the latest SRT release from GitHub in their CI/CD pipeline and are consequently still using 1.5.4 on Windows.

Thierry: I can add the prebuilt installer, but this script somehow fails. I can see, you are the author, maybe you can help?

It fails only when building the Arm64 version and the error is weird.

The "installers" directory is also empty. I found only this one weird thing there:

Thanks for trying. The real error is here:

MSBUILD : error MSB1009: Project file does not exist.

The new version of CMake which comes with VS 18 (aka Visual Studion 2026) generates a VS solution file in the new XML format .slnx.

In the build script build-win-installer.ps1, simply add an x in SRT.sln here:

It worked. I built an installer for SRT 1.5.5 and installed it on Windows 11.

I will provide a more robust PR testing the two flavors of solution file. In the meantime, you can generate the binaries for 1.5.5 by simply adding the x.

It seems a CMake issue on your side. CMake fails and therefore there is no generated version.h and no SRT.sln or SRT.slnx.

BTW, since you use VS 17 / Visual Studio 2022, after fixing the CMake issue, check if you have SRT.sln or SRT.slnx. I got a similar "Project file does not exist" error, because of the .slnx issue on my side. You have different cause for "Project file does not exist" error and maybe you will still get a .sln file.

And, yeah, Windows is and will ever be crap...

Ok, I've taken a look into the files, while it compiles again with your fix. there are build.* directories for Win32, x64 and ARM64, first two have lots of likely VC generated projects, build.ARM64 has only version.h and CMakeFiles.

Ok, I added in my version a new switch:

And added in every platform loop to skip the body if it's not the required platform. Now I have this, very simple:

Do you have ARM64 build tools installed in your Visual Studio setup? If I remember correctly, this is not installed by default on x64 machines and shall be explicitly selected in the Visual Studio installer application.

Ah, right, found it - it's not in "extension", there's a separate "MSVC installer". Not that the help system could have hinted me that. ;)

Run the standard tool "Visual Studio Installer" from the start menu, then in the installed tab -> Modify -> Individual components -> Compilers, build tools and runtimes -> MSVC Build Tools for ARM64/ARM64EC (Latest)
