[Bug]: 1.10.1 Portable version won't start

Bug description

Upgraded to version 1.10.1 portable. I get some permission issue, (Access Denied)
Annexed error screenshots when launching from file manager and from cmd

Version 1.10 launches ok

Open the app

Download portable version 1.10.1
Unzip to a folder
Launch passy.exe

I'm sorry to hear that. I am not observing the same on my end, I'd recommend that you try re-downloading v1.10.1 and installing it outside of your OneDrive folder, that could be messing up some of its files.

Edit 1: I tried this both using Wine and a regular, bare-metal Windows 11 installation, it launches just fine on both of them.

Moved it in a local folder, both 1.10 and 1.10.1.

They both keep behaving the same way

I also noted that windows security is blocking something:

Which is likely due to some restriction added by my company for some specific action, restriction that doesn't affect the 10.1 version. Is there any log file I can check for helping?

Hmm, not too sure. Windows defender must be upset with something in the v1.10.1 on your end, I can't confirm this on my end, as it launches just fine.

If it quarantined a library file from the Passy portable then it won't be able to launch, you should check for logs in Windows Settings -> Windows Security -> Virus and threat protection -> Current threats

Mh, I can't dig any deeper, not being admin on the machine. I can only reach this level of info

Just shooting in the dark: Could it be the check for updates, considering it happens before even starting?

I'll check that at some point. The good news is, v1.10.0 is still perfectly usable, the only real change is the export hotfix. So, you're totally fine to use it, for as long as you never click the CSV export feature, use backup and KDBX export instead if you need to.

Eventually, v1.10.1 should get indexed in the global defender database, so re-download it fully and try again in a month or two.
