Don't Block Editing of Past Events

We love treating Gig-O not just as a thing of the future and present, but to chart things on the past.

For BABAM sometimes members write summaries of events, but when we went to include that in the entry we got as follow:

"Thanks Kirk. I had an idea to add this summary to the event description in the archive for future reference - but found that although I could edit the event I couldn't save it because the date was now in the past."

Is there any chance we could do that? Or does a potential future "old events purge" mean this is overall unwise and we need to archive differently?

Hi Kirk,

You can still add comments to past gigs through the archive page using the "comment box" at the bottom of the page. Is that not sufficient?

I worry that if you can edit old gigs, you will - and then lose history. Using the "comment" feature means you can add stuff on, but the old stuff can't disappear.
