Camera viewfinder rotated if background mode on

I love how quick a background mode opens camera!
However, if phone rests for a longer while (not sure how long, but more than a minute or five), the next time I open camera app, viewfinder is rotated 90*.

This is inreproducible by trying this out rapidly.
