Opsz not functioning

Safari on ipad ios16

when 'mirror size changes' is unchecked. Slider moves, font (gsf latest build), doesn't change.

I can't reproduce this on an iOS 15.5 (which runs on the iPad I have available) with RobotoFlex. However, on my phone with iOS 16.1.2, opsz does nothing, even though I'm certain it is applied via font-variation-settings.

Looks to me like this is a bug in iOS and there's likely nothing I can do.

Maybe we need to find the webkit bug here or file a new one.

I'm now at iOS 16.2 the issue still persists.
