Parent: #128. Depends on #130.
Product contract
The artist decides when the work is done. Coverage may be shown as useful information, but reaching 100% does not automatically finish, reveal, fill, or convert anything.
Recipe
-
Finish guidance
- Keep an always-available Finish guidance action.
- Confirm that finishing removes the numbered scaffold and guide restrictions while keeping the artwork and undo history.
- Remove the guided-session payload only after explicit confirmation.
-
Preview without surrendering control
- Let the artist temporarily hide/show numbers or view the generated target.
- Do not auto-fill unfinished cells in the MVP.
- Do not use Give up language.
-
Resume
- Reopening a project with a guided-session payload restores guidance, settings, and progress.
- Closing or switching projects does not imply completion.
-
Result view
- Finishing guidance returns to the normal editor and zooms to a useful view without forced choreography.
- View with CRT is optional and never enabled automatically.
- Respect reduced-motion preferences.
-
Entry points
- Add Paint by number beside normal creation in the project browser.
- Add a secondary File menu entry.
- Always create a separate workspace project and handle the workspace item limit explicitly.
Acceptance
- Guidance can be finished at any coverage percentage.
- Finishing changes no painted pixels and preserves undoable work.
- Mid-session save/reload resumes exactly.
- The target may be previewed without auto-painting it.
- CRT remains an explicit optional view.
- Entry points clearly communicate that a new project will be created.
