zoom option in map has stopped working

I had submitted a PR few days ago which allowed the zoom functionality.
But since in a new PR the theme-lava.css was restored the zoom option has stopped working.

What do you say @mariobehling is it required.

I’m a GSoC aspirant and was going through old issues to understand the codebase.
This issue is from 2018, so I wanted to check whether it is still open and relevant.
If yes, I’d be happy to work on fixing it.
