Errors when downloading and dysfunctional links

Hey, is this project still supported? Installing script and running "rlama rag" produces several errors. Discord server link and signing up on your webpage is not working.

hey, just dropping by — I ran into the same issue a while ago and looked deeper into it.

from what I can tell, the project hasn't been actively maintained lately. the rlama rag script fails because some dependencies and endpoints (e.g., Discord invite, signup link) are no longer valid — which typically indicates the backend infra wasn’t fully deployed or was sunsetted.

this kind of thing falls under what we call a predeploy collapse — the code looks ready, but the underlying services it depends on either never shipped or went offline silently.

if you're exploring RAG tools in general, and looking for something that's not just demo-ready but actually works in production pipelines, let me know — I've been compiling a diagnostic map of common RAG failures (including this one) and how to avoid them. happy to share.

Please do not advertise your products here, it has nothing to do with the fact that the Discord link or the sign-in isn't working. rlama-cli is a completely separate package that can be used locally. Using these issues as an excuse to promote your product is not appropriate.

As for rlama, it was a personal project I developed purely for fun and learning. I’m currently working and finishing university, and I also have other projects to focus on for my professional growth. I definitely plan to continue working on rlama during my vacation, but for now, I’m not actively maintaining the repo. That said, I’m open to discussions to troubleshoot issues or brainstorm ideas if needed.

thanks for the note — totally understand.

my intent was to help folks who might be running into the same class of infra issues (like broken auth flows or dead dependencies), since i’ve seen several of these lately and documented some patterns.

that said, i’ll remove my earlier comment to keep the thread clean. appreciate your work on the project!

Thanks @onestardao , I will check it out! Totally understand the need to temporarily pause projects, @DonTizi. But may I suggest that you either state clearly on your webpage and yt videos that update and/or support for this project is paused, or update the functionality for going to discord or signing up? In my honest opinion it is not ok to present something as sleek, simple, and well-functioning (very nice webdesign and yt videos btw!) when you know there are problems that provide functioning as advertised. I also note that instead of answering me when i posted a comment of the problem in your comments-section on a video some time ago, you deleted the comment instead of fixing the problem and / or replying to me. I also note that you have not responded to several of issues posted here, and that you first entered this chat when someone did something you did not like. I am not saying this to frustrated or blame you, but because I really believe in your project and wanting it to succeed. It will be detrimental to your project if you get a reputation in the RAG-community as a developer that does not care or take care of people spending considerable time on (unsucssesfully) implementing your products. Hope to seee you return to work on this amazing project!

You're absolutely right, and I’ll do it by the end of the week thank you for your review! I’ve deployed rlama for companies and individuals, but it’s true that for general use, I should pause it since I’m currently unable to maintain it due to a lack of time. I’ll make sure to provide updates once I resume work on this open-source project!
