I have the latest version of CrossPaste. The issue happens on Linux (Fedora 44) (see attached screenshot). The Search Window takes up more than 1/2 the height of my monitor! Can we make it smaller?

I figured out the issue: I have scaling for the monitor set to 125%. But even with that, I think the window is over-sized ((but I could be wrong)

Thanks for the report — there are two separate things here.

1. Adjustable window height — an improvement we'd like to make. The search window currently uses a fixed height (~30% of a 1080p screen). We plan to make it a customizable appearance setting, so you can size it to whatever feels right.

2. The extra over-sizing at 125% comes from the Java runtime, not from CrossPaste itself. At 125% scaling the window should only take ~29% of your screen height, so what you're seeing is scale detection misbehaving. CrossPaste doesn't do any scale handling of its own — that's entirely up to the bundled Java runtime (JetBrains Runtime), which runs through XWayland and has known problems with fractional scaling on Wayland desktops. We checked the newer JBR releases: there's no fix for this in the XWayland path; the upstream fix track is the native Wayland toolkit, which is still maturing and not yet usable for us. For now, integer scaling (100% or 200%) avoids the issue.

The good news: once the height is customizable, you'll be able to simply set a smaller height to work around the scale-detection problem regardless of your display configuration. I'll keep this issue open to track that feature.
