I set the slab run length setting to 128 and minecraft kept printing the following error:
[Worker-Main-4/ERROR]: Detected setBlock in a far chunk [-2, -23], pos: class_2338{x=-28, y=94, z=-364}, status: minecraft:features, currently generating: ResourceKey[minecraft:worldgen/placed_feature / terrainslabs:slab_feature_placed]
The game also generated weird slab formations like the one shown in the attached picture.
Mods used: Fabric API, Countered's terrain slabs, Mod Menu, Placeholder API
