Documentation improvements

• Ban system / User Notes:

  • Notes can be left on the user
  • Restrictions are shown on user search, and volunteer list
  • Bans are actively preventing users from performing an action, and shows a generic error message
  • Bans can be created with an optional user, but required a first name/last name (Does not need to create an user account for the user)
  • If the first letter of the first name, and the last name matches a banned user, the dashboard will show accounts that need review

• Volunteer system

  • NOTE: You can request for support to change the volunteer form
  • Users apply as a volunteer
  • People that are assigned as department leads can request for people whom have showed interest for a department
  • The person with the "hr" role can assign the volunteer to the department
  • (TODO: How do we explain recruit vs. staff)
  • Department leads can massemail their department
  • Talk to registration to assign product discounts for people who are volunteers

• Vendor System

  • Allow for people to apply for a vendor role
  • A product category must be created for a vendor area before the vendor area is created
  • Only after a dealer is approved, the products will be added to their cart, and the vendor can paid
  • Vendors are still expected to pay for their registration separately, but note, you can create a product discount for the vendorApproved role, so that the vendor can get the registration for free (?)
  • Dealer areas allow for vendors to apply for different markets. For example, an adult table, or a night market table, or the main vendor area.
  • If only a single dealer area is available, then the user is not displayed an option
  • Talk about seating preferences
  • Talk about manage assistants
  • Create a "Hidden product" for addons that you want the dealer to want to purchase in addition to the their table.
    • For example, create a hidden product called "Electricity ($50)", and set it as a non-free addon to another table type product.

• Registration

  • Upgrade paths gives the user a discount when upgrading to a new level
  • Free Addons will automatically added to the user cart for free. Non-free addons will be displayed to the user in the end of their registration process.

• Store

  • Talk about how "Restrict product to grants" allow to require an user to have an active product grant. For example, you only want a specific product be bought by users that has a registration, or only selling dinner tickets to users who are super-sponsor first.

• Cashier

  • User searches are automatically
  • Talk about product delivery
  • Explain the "Configure registration station" box
  • Explain banned words, and that the casheir might have to update their badge
  • Badge printing process, the user can badge print
  • TODO: we need a plain check-in process for pre-printed badges
