[arch-v2] Feature finalization, part 1

Feature description

This will be start of work of finalizing the V2 architecture. Due to the size of this work we will be breaking it into multiple parts.

• Add Test cases
• Support multiple destinations

Another issue to consider for this is #1951, especially the second comment in the list (about simplifying the task ordering).
