[BUG] Songs take a while to load

When I manually chose any song, it takes around 3 to 5 seconds to start. I know this seems like a nitpick but most Linux music players I've used change instantly.

Which Astra version/build are you currently using?

If you’re on a nightly build, please also include the commit hash found in the title or in info > app version, since 3–5 seconds would be unexpected.

I'm using v0.6.1-beta so this is on the latest available version. I've also realized that this mostly happens if I start the songs from the album category.

can corroborate the 3-5 second delay on 0.6.1-beta
initially i thought it was a internet delay due to lyrics/albumart lookup so turned that off, but the issue persisted
playback startup is delayed for every song
having to wait in silence between tracks is not fun :(

I haven’t been able to reproduce a 3–5 second delay on my own machines, but I did find some RMS/loudness calculations in v0.6.1-beta that were running synchronously during playback startup and could delay playback on some machines.

In the upcoming v0.7.0-beta update, the calculations needed immediately have been moved to the faster native backend, while less time-sensitive work is deferred until after playback begins. This should substantially reduce the startup delay you’re seeing.

I’m going to leave this issue open until you’ve had some time with the next update, please let me know whether it resolves the issue :).

Kind of fixed(?) the issue on my end
MacOS was (for whatever reason) setting my audio output device at 352.8kHz, so the poor resampler was 8xing everything, buffer size was going insane
Went into audio midi setup and set my output device to 44.1kHz and it's much better now, songs play in ~1s or less, so there is still a bit of a delay

Just tested both builds in a slower VM. I can confirm there is an improvement, so that remaining delay should come down further with the next update.
