Description

A guitar player shows up, letting you know that they want to be a famous rockstar.

"I'm trying to train my two PKMN to like really, pump up the base, you know? Thing is, one of them is really not gettin' it, ya' feel me? Would you mind helpin' me out a lil', bro? It's gonna be so doooope if you do!"

Options offered to the player

• Battle

  • They send out two Exploud-line PKMN to start
  • Exploud 1 has Soundproof so it's deaf to other Exploud and the singer-trainer. Aparrently, it "gets it".
  • Exploud 2 has Scrappy (HA) instead, so it gets hurt by the teammate Exploud and the horrendous singing from the trainer. It's flooded with Frustration at its teammate. Apparently, it doesn't "get it".
  • Start of Combat: Soundproof Exploud uses Boomburst. Scrappy Exploud uses Boomburst if any enemies still alive.
  • Exploud's moveset:
    • Soundproof Exploud: [Boomburst, Crunch]
    • Scrappy Exploud: [Boomburst]

• Offer to play some music together instead

  • Requires a "pleasing sound" move in your party.

  • You spend a whole afternoon using the move for him and his Explouds. He thinks you and your Pokemon "still have a long way to go" to become "good musicians like him". Before you leave, it seems like his Scrappy Exploud really wants to leave with you.
    • Receive the Scrappy Exploud.
    • Its passive is unlocked (this run only).
    • Knows Boomburst + One of Alluring Voice/Sparkling Aria/Torch Song

• Tell him you have a sick bass line he can record

  • Requires "horribly sounding" move in your party:
    • Growl
    • Roar
    • Screech
    • Supersonic
    • Hyper Voice
    • Metal Sound
    • Bug Buzz
    • Chatter

  • You spend a whole afternoon using the move for him and his Explouds. He recognises your "true talent for music" and says that he someday wants to see one of his Exploud "up on that stage".

    • Has a Silk Scarf equipped.
    • Really only knows Boomburst.

• Refuse concert

  • I'm not sure. This is another idea that was mainly based on a battle, so idk what to do if the battle doesn't happen

Explanation/Notes on Design

I think this is a fun event for a little bit of flavour. This guy's concert is two explouds screaming as loud as possible. That's funny.

Asdar's note: when reworking this, I tried to keep the originally idea of "getting boombursted by Exploud" intact, but harper a bit more on the fact that this guy thinks that's "music" and how clueless he might be. One of the Exploud is totally on board with that but the other one is just getting blasted by the Boomburst every time they fight a duo battle.

It's alsmost as if the one that could truly appreciate music is not the Soundproof one.
