[Question]: What are the issues with removing Refined Storage mod?

I never understood why the mod is included when AE2 is included, and why is it not getting removed, but I've stumbled upon a reddit post with the title Why is there no refined storage in atm 10 tts by default?, and this comment:

It was in the beta version, but it was causing issues and instability so it was removed again. There's currently no plans to re-add it. It shouldn't have been added to ATM10 either, but it's too late to remove it now without causing more issues, so it stays

So, what are the issues? And can they be resolved or ATM10 is stuck with this mod?

the issues were resolved a long time ago so there's no need to remove it

Then why is the mod being kept around? Isn't it just "clutter"? (when there's AE2 with many addons)
