Serial Monitor showing blank

when running the Arduino code, it compiles and uploads correctly but the serial monitor is completely blank and there is no response from the system even with the correct Baud rate. Do you have any insight on what might be the issue?

I haven't worked with the Arduino code in a while, but I will retrieve an Arduino from the local hackerspace and try it out. Usually it's an incorrect baud rate, but I think you have that sorted. Another possibility would be some other software attempting to use the same usb/serial port. Lastly, some boards will appear to hang-up if there is no device (in this case, the gyro) attached to the I2C port. In reality they are just waiting to time-out during the I2C initialization. In any event, I'll try the software out and get back to you.

I can confirm there is a problem. I tested with an Arduino UNO R3 board, Arduino 1.8.18 IDE, and CoolTerm as a serial terminal. I dropped the baud rate to 19200 to avoid over-stressing anything. I added a simple print statement following "Serial.begin(serial_Frequency);" in setup(). I can get three characters out of the serial connection before it stops. I suspect that something has changed in the Arduino core libraries that is conflicting with the program. I will add it to my todo list.
