Does Adept use ld directly or invoke the gcc frontend for linking?

Most of the projects I know use the gcc frontend for linking. Very few of them invoke ld directly. I'm just curious how Adept is handling it.

On Windows, Adept uses ld directly. On macOS/Linux Adept uses gcc command.
