Workflow Improvements and Speed Optimization

Some rough ideas.

1. Pattern Editor:
   Ability to play from a specific position (similar to the desktop version).
   Add a dedicated button for this feature.

2. Copy/Cut/Paste:
   Option to copy, cut, or paste effects only. (maybe it is already there, partially)

3. Exit Button:
   Add a button to quickly exit the app. ☺️

4. Keep Screen Alive:
   Option to keep the screen active during use.

5. Rearranging Instruments:
   Drag-and-drop functionality in the instrument viewer to rearrange instruments.
   Pointers are adjusted accordingly.

6. Transpose Function:
   Ability to transpose the entire song up or down by selecting specific parts. (whitin track editor)

7. Orderlist Editing:
   Allow track-by-track (e.g. track 1) editing of the orderlist without automatically creating default entries (e.g., 00, 01, 02 for all 3 tracks).

8. Invisible Patterns:
   Define a empty pattern and make it invisible. (track editor)

9. Right Sidebar:
   Extend, with useful functions..
   Add a button to jump directly to the instrument or effect (filter, pulse..) currently being edited. (depends on cursor position)

10. Switching Instruments:
    Use a button to cycle through instruments. ‹- | -›

11. Keyboard Functionality:
    Enable switching the musical-keyboard to other functions for multiple editing options.
    Examples:
    Number & Hex input field (0 - 9, A-F) for effects to avoid calling up menus unnecessarily.

Regarding 1., ability to play from a specific position, thinking about it makes me wonder if the stop button was a good idea. It makes the player jump back to the beginning of the pattern. Maybe it would work better if there were just 3 different play buttons:

• A switch that toggles between play and pause, just like the current play button. The player position doesn't get reset in any way.
• A trigger that resets the player to the current cursor position, then enables the play button below (unless it's already playing).
• A trigger that resets the player to the current cursor position but the beginning of the pattern., then enables the play button below (unless it's already playing).

What do you think of that? I would also need to come up with two new play icons. 🤔

Or perhaps it’s better to keep the transport controls in their current form? Having multiple buttons in the bar might make them somewhat fiddly to use.

An alternative could be positioning the play-from-cursor-position button (similar to Shift+Space) in the right sidebar, near the bottom but above the keyboard. This way, you can quickly jump around with your left hand while testing notes.

This makes a lot of sense, since the button only has meaning when editing patterns. The icon the should just be a simple play icon.

I added the button as discussed. Regarding point 9, I added long press actions for the instrument selection and command edit button. A long press of the instrument select button picks up the instrument from the selected pattern row. Similarly, long-pressing the edit button jumps to the table corresponding to the table pointer command (but only if a table pointer command is selected). This way, no extra buttons are needed although thus functionality is somewhat hidden.
