Possible EventEmitter memory leak detected

Trying to run version 2.2.3 I get the following error

(node:70226) Warning: Possible EventEmitter memory leak detected. 11 exit listeners added. Use emitter.setMaxListeners() to increase limit
Warning: Cannot read property 'end' of undefined Use --force to continue.

This happens with node 6.9.1 as well as 4.7.3

I'm having this too, on Mac OS X 10.12.3 beta with on node 7.1 or 7.5. A colleague isn't having problems on Ubuntu though; possibly something at the OS level?

@jdforrester not sure. I can confirm this error for macOS 10.12.2 and Win 7.
